The Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) has officially announced the start of the online application process for admission into its 78 Regular Course. A statement from the Academy Registrar confirms the application portal will open on Friday, November 28, 2025 . Prospective candidates have until Wednesday, April 30, 2026, to complete and submit their applications for the 2025-2026 session . The Academy emphasizes that admission is open to all eligible male and female Nigerian citizens .


Prospective candidates must follow a specific online procedure. All applications are handled through the official portal at www.ndaapplications.net . The first step requires creating an account with a valid email address . Applicants then select 'Purchase Access Code' and provide their details to generate an Order ID and a Remita Retrieval Reference (RRR) code . The application fee is set at Seven Thousand Naira (N7,000.00) only . The Academy's statement stresses that payment must be made strictly through the RRR code generated on its portal. The notice warns that no other payment channels will be accepted . After payment, candidates can log in to fill out the online application form with their bio-data and other required information .


The Academy advises applicants to confirm all information is accurate before final submission, as edits may not be possible afterward . After submitting the application, candidates must download and print their acknowledgement form and parent consent form . These documents are essential for the next stages of the selection process. If shortlisted, candidates will be expected to select an examination venue through the application portal .


Admission into the NDA comes with specific eligibility requirements. Applicants must be Nigerian citizens . They should be between 17 and 21 years of age at the time of admission and must be medically fit and single . Academically, candidates need a minimum of five credit passes in relevant subjects, including English Language and Mathematics, obtained in not more than two sittings from examinations like WAEC or NECO . Furthermore, all applicants must sit for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and select the NDA as their first choice institution . The required JAMB score is at least 180 for Arts and Social Science courses and 210 for Engineering courses .


The selection of candidates is a multi-stage process. It begins with the NDA Screening Test, which is scheduled for May 2026 . Those who perform well in this test will be invited to the Armed Forces Selection Board (AFSB) for further assessment . The final selection is highly competitive and based strictly on merit . Successful candidates will undergo a five-year training program at the Academy in Kaduna . Upon completion, cadets will graduate with a university degree and be commissioned as officers in the Nigerian Armed Forces, serving in the Army, Navy, or Air Force .
