VDM demands answers to Mohbad’s unresolved death.

Nigerian activist VeryDarkMan (VDM) has called on rapper Zlatan Ibile to break his silence on the death of singer Mohbad. He posted on Instagram on June 28, 2025, that justice for Mohbad remains unfinished .

Mohbad, born Ilerioluwa Aloba, died on September 12, 2023, under unclear circumstances. His body arrived at Medcare Hospital already deceased . Lagos police and the Department of State Services joined the probe days later. Investigators exhumed his body and completed an autopsy on September 21, 2023 .

VDM argues Nigerians remain divided over key witnesses. He urged Zlatan to explain why he never spoke up about events that day. In a viral video, VDM asked: “If you want justice, let Zlatan come out and tell Nigerians the truth of that day” .

Zlatan once shielded Mohbad from a heated confrontation with Sam Larry during a video shoot in 2023 . Many saw Zlatan as a protector then. Now, VDM wants details on what Zlatan knows behind closed doors.

Sam Larry has denied wrongdoing. In a June 28, 2025, interview, he said he never harmed Mohbad and named Zlatan as his witness . Despite this, VDM insists more probing is vital.

Protests under #Justice4MohBad spread across Lagos and Abuja in September 2023. Candlelight vigils drew thousands, with stars like Davido, Falz, and Zlatan attending tributes . The public outcry pushed police to warn against media trials.

Lagos State Police say the case remains active. Spokesman Benjamin Hundeyin warns that no media frenzy will sway the probe. He affirms the force will follow only facts and evidence .

Experts say public pressure can help, but only clear testimonies will end doubts. Legal analyst Amina Yusuf notes that first-hand accounts carry weight in court. She urges all witnesses, including Zlatan, to give statements under oath.

Nigerians online echo VDM’s call. Many feel justice stalled when key figures stayed quiet. Threads on Twitter and Facebook resurface old footage. Activists plan a fresh rally if Zlatan does not come forward by week’s end.

Justice for Mohbad will not rest until the truth emerges. VDM’s renewed push highlights gaps in the public record. Now, all eyes turn to Zlatan Ibile. Will he speak?
