A recent video shows Pastor David Ibiyeomi claiming God gave him power to make people sleep and never wake.

In the clip titled “Tell them to sleep and not wake until…,” Ibiyeomi stands before his congregation and says believers can pray for others to fall into deep sleep. He adds that such prayers are divine, implying God grants him authority over life and death.

Ibiyeomi leads Salvation Ministries in Port Harcourt. He has millions of followers on TV and social media. The pastor often preaches prosperity and spiritual power. His sermons draw huge crowds online.

Martins Vincent Otse, known as VeryDarkMan, criticized Ibiyeomi . He accused the pastor of spreading fear and superstition. VeryDarkMan says such claims harm vulnerable viewers.

Many followers voiced support for Ibiyeomi. They believe his prayers bring genuine miracles. Others worry his words could lead to abuse. Critics say they encourage dangerous faith practices.

A theology lecturer at University of Lagos warns against extreme claims. He says no scripture backs the idea that saints can force sleep until death. The lecturer urges believers to seek balance in faith.

VeryDarkMan calls on regulators to probe the sermon. He wants evidence Ibiyeomi truly believes such power exists. He says pastors must be held accountable for harmful messages.
