A massive fire erupted Wednesday night at Nigerian Law School's Kano Campus, devastating students' hostel. The blaze rapidly engulfed the entire structure destroying personal belongings like clothing important documents and electronic devices. Fortunately, all students and staff were safely evacuated no injuries were reported during the chaotic evacuation process.

This incident has caused considerable distress among the students, especially with final bar examinations just two weeks away. Many have lost essential study materials, adding to their anxiety during this critical period. In a video obtained by SaharaReporters, students were seen attempting to extinguish the flames themselves, highlighting the absence of fire service personnel during the crisis. One student remarked, "I've never seen a fire service truck here in law school."

The Nigerian Law School management has yet to release any official statement regarding the fire that occurred recently. This event follows a tragedy in Zamfara State where at least 17 pupils lost their lives in a fire at an Almajiri school.

This series of incidents highlight the urgent need for improved fire safety measures that exist in educational institutions nationwide due to recent incidents of fires. Authorities should investigate fires thoroughly and implement preventive strategies promptly everywhere.
