Think about it: what if being a tibia isn’t some “evil” path like we've been taught to believe? Yul pointed out that colonial brainwashing and Nollywood storytelling have painted native doctors in a negative light for years. But at its heart, this is a divine calling from God Himself, a role designed to heal and protect.
Let’s break it down. A true native doctor fights against evil, just like a pastor does. The difference? One works with herbs, rituals, and ancient wisdom, while the other preaches from the pulpit. Both can choose to misuse their power, but the core mission? It’s about helping humanity.
Yul made a strong case for answering your true calling, no matter how unconventional it looks to others. And he’s right, running away from it won’t bring peace. If you’re meant to heal and serve as a tibia, you’re not going to find fulfilment anywhere else.
So, why do we still see these ancient practices as “wrong”? Maybe it’s time to rewrite the narrative. Native doctors are just as valid as pastors or any other spiritual leaders. They are vessels of wisdom, chosen to uplift and heal.
