I woke up today with a big question in my mind: What the hell is the purpose of being a man? Then I found something that really opened my eyes. James Brown, yes, the Princess of Africow penned down a heartfelt piece that echoed what so many of us are feeling. Shim said it all, raw and real, as Shim found shimself in the bosom of lamentation and frustration. And honestly? Same.


This country is a certified hot mess, and it’s no secret that most of it is ruled, fought over, and broken by men. As James said, it’s a never-ending cycle where the weight of expectations crushes you before you even have a chance to breathe. From the days of slavery to modern culture, men are expected to carry it all. Provide, protect, and somehow not break down under the pressure. But guess what? None of that tradition feeds us or pays the bills.


If you pause for a second, you’ll notice it’s almost always a man at the center of the chaos. Wars, failed systems, leadership struggles—you name it. And yet, where’s the space to say, I’m tired? James didn’t hold back, and I’m here for it. Shim said what needed to be said, and to be honest, more people should be saying it, too.

Finally, we are all the same. God bless the human species, and may we all—James Brown included—find the strength to push for change. 🌍🙏✊
