Isaac Fayose’s Call for Justice: Ekiti State Workers Deserve a Fair Wage

Isaac Fayose

You ever wonder how someone’s supposed to make it on 35,000 a month? Because that’s what Ekiti state workers are bringing home, while the big shots—former governors are sitting back, stacking up millions monthly. 🍛 How is this even fair?

Isaac Fayose didn’t mince words, and he's right: These workers are just asking for a living wage. And they’re not even getting that. They’re calling on the government for 70,000, something that could at least cover the basics. Yet, even that’s treated like it’s some huge demand, as if workers shouldn’t even ask for more. Meanwhile, the former governors? They’re living the "yafun yafun" life, soaking up all the extras and then some.

And here’s the part that stings—they’ve got all these perks while the people who keep things running barely get by. Less than 25 pounds a month, honestly, how’s anyone supposed to survive on that? 😐 It’s as if the folks at the top just don’t care. They’re there to keep each other comfortable, not to serve the everyday people who work to keep the state moving. It a real slap in the face, isn’t it?

Now, here's the truth nobody wants to say out loud: If anything’s going to change, it might have to start from the bottom. Maybe the only way forward is if workers and citizens alike come together to demand what’s fair, to say enough is enough. ✊ After all, if they can keep a former governor in luxury, they can at least give those putting in the work a fair wage. But the real question is will we sit back, or will we push for change?
