Nigeria Police arrests arms dealer, detains over 1,200 in crackdown.

The Nigerian police department has taken action following orders, from the Inspector General by carrying out a large scale operation against activities which led to the apprehension of a weapons dealer along with 1 246 individuals connected to different crimes. Throughout this one month mission the authorities were able to confiscate 3, 172 rounds of ammunition demonstrating progress in curbing the circulation of illegal arms, in the country.


The Inspector General emphasized that this operation is a component of an effort to enhance safety in Nigeria.With a focus, on intelligence driven policing the Nigerian Police Force is demonstrating its commitment, to combatting crime by addressing both crimes and the widespread arms trade that sustains them.
