Shattered Hopes: How a N150 Million Poultry Farm Was Destroyed Without Warning in Abuja

Poultry Farm In Abuja Destroyed By Fcda, Leaving Over 5,000 Birds Dead.

I can not even wrap my head around it, imagine investing N150 million into a project, watching it grow, nurturing it every day, and then, in the blink of an eye, it’s gone. This is exactly what happened to Akomolafe Henrich Bankole, who built a poultry farm in Lokogoma, Abuja.

Just yesterday, without warning no heads up, no notice the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA) came in and wrecked it all. Over 5,000 birds are dead, and that’s not just a number. Each one represented hours of hard work, dedication, and a dream that’s now crushed.

Bankole’s investment didn’t just vanish into thin air; it was *destroyed*. It’s heartbreaking to see this level of loss, especially when it could’ve been avoided with some communication.

How do you pick up the pieces from here? The devastation is real, not just for the financial blow but the emotional toll. N150 million isn’t pocket change, and neither is the livelihood that was ripped away.

Now, this isn’t just about one farm or one person’s misfortune. It’s a conversation we need to have about the lack of due process, about the disregard for people’s hard earned investments, and, honestly, about where we go from here. How do we prevent this from happening again?. It not just about the birds it about the people behind them.
