The situation in Borno right now is heart-wrenching. We're talking about people who have already lost everything to the floods, only to be abandoned when they needed help the most. Imagine the frustration of standing in an IDP camp with nothing but hope until that too is ripped away. Just a few packets of spaghetti and a measly 10,000 naira were thrown at them, and then the government has the audacity to push them out into the streets. Where’s the compassion? Where’s the accountability?
Even after donations from international bodies and local philanthropists, the people affected by the floods haven’t seen any meaningful aid. Verydarkman isn’t holding back, and he shouldn’t. He called out Borno State and everyone in power for this injustice, saying, "No more donations!" His frustration is real. How can millions of dollars pour in, and these people still have nothing to show for it?
I mean, how does spaghetti fix the homes they’ve lost? How does 10,000 naira rebuild lives? We’re not talking about small change here billions have been pledged, yet it’s the same story of neglect. Verydarkman even reached out to the UN, urging them to demand a refund for their donations. Yeah, you read that right—a "refund". Because if the money is not getting to the people who need it, what’s the point?
Borno government needs to be held accountable. Not just for their failure to act but for the way they have blatantly disrespected their own people, and it is not just Verydarkman who feels this way. The outrage is spreading. More voices are speaking up, because we can’t stand by while innocent lives are treated like this.
