Idris Okuneye aka Bobrisky, you either love him or loathe him. One thing's for sure he know how to keep people talking. But, this time we're not talking about his latest crazy antic or outrageous Instagram post. Nope! We're talking about him being IN JAIL where he spent six months in Kirikiri Correctional Centre.
For those of you that don’t know already, Bobrisky actually got arrested and found himself at the infamous Kirikiri prison. Six months in jail is never easy, but Bobrisky wasn’t in general population for one. Soon stories will start to come out how he spent his six month sentence in a special prison cell, I assure you it’s nothing like your everyday jail ce
Being a high-profile inmate, he didn’t do hard labor or share cramped spaces like most inmates. Instead, he was housed in a special cell – a space reserved for those the system deems too high-risk for the regular prison life. Sounds like a different kind of “special treatment,” right? But don't get it twisted; this wasn’t some luxurious retreat. The special cell comes with its own set of challenges, including isolation and restrictions that can take a toll on anyone’s mental health.
Plus, the moment he stepped in into Kirikiri the dynamic had changed. Can you imagine? No, I mean, you can imagine the kind of attention for him. You know what I mean? Even a space where people are thinking more about how to be alive than getting along with each other. I mean his effect on inmates and those around would have been — is different vibes.
There are whispers that his time in Kirikiri has humbled him a bit – though knowing Bobrisky, he'll be back on social media, probably making light of it all or turning it into a new kind of celebrity badge. What’s clear, though, is that his stint in prison is a reminder that fame and influence don’t shield anyone from the consequences of their actions.
Bobrisky’s story is not over, and I’m sure he’ll talk about Kirikiri at some point. Either as his greatest redemption or as his big mistake. We’ll see. Maybe this chapter in the wild life of Bobrisky will come to closure soon.
