lebrating a Literary Icon: Corporate Nigeria Rallies Behind The Noble Warrior
As the world-renowned Nigerian playwright and poet, Prof. Wole Soyinka, marks his 90th birthday, a special theatre production, The Noble Warrior (ENIOGUN), is garnering significant corporate support. This poignant tribute, written by Aiye-ko-ooto and directed by Oriade Adefila, is a testament to Soyinka's enduring legacy and impact on Nigerian culture.
The production, a collaboration with Wole Soyinka International Cultural Exchange (WSICE), has secured partnerships with prominent corporate entities across various sectors, including banking, telecommunications, financial services, food, and agro-allied production. FCMB, Flour Mills of Nigeria, Alternative Bank, Airtel, FMDQ, and CINQTEOS Limited are among the notable partners.
This corporate support is a resounding affirmation of Soyinka's stature as a national icon and a celebration of his contributions to Nigeria's cultural heritage. It also underscores the recognition of arts and culture as a vital platform for brand promotion and corporate social responsibility initiatives.
The premiere of The Noble Warrior (ENI OGUN) will take place on July 15th at the Hubert Ogunde Hall of the June 12 Cultural Centre in Abeokuta, with additional performances at the Muson Centre in Lagos on July 20th and 21st.
