To alleviate the impact of increasing food expenses, on the pocketbook in Nigeria the Nigerian government has officially introduced the sale of 50kg sacks of rice at a discounted rate of ₦40 000. The declaration was announced at a ceremony held in Abeokuta Ogun State signifying the phase of this endeavor. As, per Abubakar Kyari, the Minister of Agriculture and Food Security this initiative is part of measures being implemented to offer assistance to Nigerians during these difficult circumstances.
As part of the governments plan to help everyday people cope with rising food prices and economic challenges betterment initiatives have been put in place recently by Kyari to assure that essential food items, like rice continue to be affordable, for families.
