Temporary Traffic Diversion |
The Lagos State Government has announced a temporary traffic diversion starting July 22 to facilitate emergency repairs on the Odo Iya Alaro Bridge. The repairs, scheduled to last 90 days, will be carried out in two phases to minimize disruptions.
During the first phase, the Ojota-bound lane will be closed, while the second phase will affect the Yaba/Ojuelegba/Maryland-bound lane. Alternative routes have been designated to ensure smooth traffic flow. Motorists are advised to follow designated routes and directional signs to avoid congestion.
To mitigate potential inconvenience, sufficient traffic management personnel will be deployed across the city. The government appeals to residents, especially motorists, to cooperate and appreciate the temporary interventions.
This proactive measure demonstrates the government's commitment to infrastructure maintenance and safety. By addressing the bridge's asphalt pavement and expansion joints, the repairs will enhance the overall driving experience and ensure the structural integrity of the bridge.
The temporary diversion and repairs will impact commuters travelling to Ojota, Yaba, Maryland, and surrounding areas. However, with the designated alternative routes and effective traffic management, the disruptions are expected to be minimal. The Lagos State Government's efforts to maintain and improve the city's infrastructure will contribute to a safer and more efficient transportation network.
