KIDNAPPING HORROR |
In a chilling tale of survival, a 74-year-old woman, Madam Alicia Afolayan, and a driver, Kabiru Yakubu, have recounted their harrowing experience in the hands of kidnappers in Ondo state. The duo, along with four others, was rescued by a combined team of Nigerian Army and Amotekun operatives after being abducted in the Akunu area of Akoko.
The victims, who were en route to Abuja, were ambushed and kidnapped at gunpoint, with the assailants deploying white dogs to track them down in the forest. The survivors described the terrifying moment when the dogs were brought in to sniff them out, leading to the recapture of some passengers who had attempted to flee.
The rescue operation, which commenced around 10 pm, saw the combined security forces combing the forest to locate the victims. While six victims have been rescued, the search for the remaining two continues, with local hunters joining the effort.
Community leader Alhaji Abass Olorunosebi has assured that the two missing victims will be found unharmed, as the search party intensifies its efforts.
This incident highlights the growing concern of kidnapping in Nigeria, and the need for enhanced security measures to ensure the safety of citizens.
